The Diablo Immortal update adds a new limited-time event to kick off the 2023 Blizzard RPG roadmap, as well as changes to Legendary Gems and Transmuted Stones

Diablo 4's release date may still be a few months away, but the new update for Diablo Immortal marks the start of Blizzard's 2023 roadmap for mobile and PC gaming around the world. Following the release of the second major Diablo Immortal update, Terror's Tide, in December, the fantasy game kicks off the year with a new limited-time event.
The update will be available on January 4th from 4pm - 6pm PT / 7pm - 9pm ET (i.e. January 5th from 12pm - 2am GMT / 1am - 3: 12:00 a.m. CET) to the Diablo Immortal servers in Europe, Oceania, China, East Asia, and Southeast Asia following the maintenance on the Asia servers. Meanwhile, the US servers will be undergoing maintenance on January 5 from 12pm to 2am PT / 3am to 5am ET / 8am to 10am GMT / 9am to 11am CET.
The Diablo Immortal Rising Curse event will take place from January 5th to January 13th at 3am server time. You will receive daily quests that will reward you with a range of materials and money. There are additional rewards for completing enough quests during the event, including Diablo Immortal Earth Pearls (for crafting five-star legendary gems) and the Legendary Crest - which is just the normal crest, but in its new version, Diablo Immortal became Legendary Crest redesigned and now looks orange.
Speaking of Diablo: Immortal's ubiquitous Legendary Gems, two notable Gems have had a rework to ensure they behave consistently when summoned by players. Petrified Flesh and Blood Shards now cause summons to deal additional damage to enemies affected by Explosion Curse, while Seeping Bile's sustained damage effect now also applies to explosions from your summons.
Anyone wishing to purchase newly cast stones will soon be able to do so without spending the paid Eternal Orbs currency. After the update, newly cast stones will be available for 1,000 platinum from Yverius, the Westmar-based supplier of forging materials. You can also buy them directly in the game shop.
There will also be some small quality of life improvements. First, Candidate Keys and Gems are now automatically picked up from the Sanctum in Ibn Fahd. When you create a Hell Raid, your Warband and Clan members will now be notified, making it easier for them to participate. Finally, bounties earned by party leaders are now shared with other members unless they already have four active bounties. In this case, they can replace their current bounty with the leader's bounty.
